Change username

As an administrator, you may occasionally need to change the username of an employee. This could occur, for example, when an employee gets married and decides to change their last name.

To change the username of an employee:

  1. Click the Employees button on the Administration Overview diagram (Employee view).

    The Employee Administration screen appears.

  2. Click Search at the top-right of the screen.

    The Employee Search window appears.

  3. Use the search criteria defined in the Search for employee procedure to narrow the search for the employee you want.

    The Employee Administration screen re-appears, displaying the search results table.

  4. Click Grey head and shoulders to the right of the employee.

    The Change Username window appears.

  5. For security reasons, type your own password in the top field.
  6. Enter the new username in the bottom field. The username must be unique within the Spend Dynamics solution and must be a minimum of six characters long.

    If another user of Spend Dynamics is currently using the same username, an error message will appear. Try again and select another username for your employee, e.g. using a prefix suitable for your organization, middle initial, or the first two characters of their first name to make the username unique.

  7. Click Save.
