Log in and out of solution

To log in to Spend Dynamics:

  1. Open your internet browser and access the solution to display the login screen.
  2. Enter the username and password provided by your organization.

    Note: The password is case sensitive.

  3. Click Log in or select the Enter key on your keyboard.
  4. If this is the first time you have accessed the system, the Change Password screen appears, requiring you to change your password.
    1. Enter your username and confirm your new password that complies with the standard password rules.
    2. Click the Save and log out button to be redirected to the login page.
    3. Log in with your new password.

      Note: You will be prompted by the system to change this password at regular intervals. Alternatively, you can change the password yourself at any time via Change password from the user menu.

  5. If two-factor authentication is enabled for your company, complete the following steps:
    1. If you haven't registered for two-factor authentication, the Register for two-factor authentication screen appears.

      Depending on the authentication methods supported in your product, you are prompted to register using one of the following methods:

      • If the selected authentication method is Email, an authentication code is sent to your company email address.
      • If the selected authentication method is the BMO Spend Dynamics app, the Register for two-factor authentication screen prompts you to download the mobile app on your device. You must log in to the app to complete the registration. An authentication code is generated in the app.

      To complete the registration, enter the authentication code on the registration screen and click Verify. Once your code is verified, you are registered successfully. You will be prompted to verify your login using an authentication code for all subsequent login sessions.

    2. If you have already registered for two-factor authentication, the Two-factor authentication screen appears.

      Depending on the authentication methods supported in your product, you are prompted to enter an authentication code using one of the following methods:

      • If the selected authentication method is the BMO Spend Dynamics app, an authentication code is generated in the app.
      • If the selected authentication method is email, an authentication code is sent to your company email address.

      To verify your identity and log in, enter the authentication code on the Two-factor authentication screen and click Verify.

  6. Select the Remember me checkbox to save your device/computer and browser details. When you log in next, your device/computer and browser is identified as secure and you are not prompted to verify your identity using an authentication code. You can log in directly using your username and password.
  7. If two-factor authentication is not enabled for your company, complete the following steps:
    1. If you have not previously registered your security answers, the Security Authentication Question Registration screen appears.
      • Pick a question from the Security question drop-down field.
      • Enter an answer into your answer field.
      • Repeat for all three question and answer sections.

        Note: Each answer in the list must be different, not blank, a whitespace answer or your password, include a minimum of three characters, and the same character cannot appear in succession more than twice (e.g. not 'AAA' or 'BBB').

      • Click Submit.
      • Click Continue to view your home screen.
    2. If you have already set up your password and registered your security answers:
      • Enter your username and password.
      • Answer a security question.

        Note: If you intend you use the same browser and device in the future, you can avoid this step by clicking Remember this device.

      • Click Submit.

To log out:

To log out of the solution at any time, select Log Out from the user menu.
