Edit charge code

If you have been given the access right Admin - Add/Modify Charge Code, you can create and edit basic charge codes through the application (although unable to add or edit parent-child code relationships, this functionality still needs to be created/managed through the charge code (CC) interface). When the right is enabled, the Edit button appears on the Charge Codes screen.

Note: You cannot edit the status of any charge code that has an effective date range applied to it. When editing charge codes with effective date ranges, the Active and Inactive status selection buttons are greyed out and hovering over either displays an explanatory tooltip.

To edit a charge code:

  1. Click the Charge Codes button on the Administration Overview diagram (Employee view).

    The Charge Codes Search window appears.

  2. Use the search criteria defined in the Search for charge code procedure to find the code you want to edit.
  3. In the Actions column, click Black pencil beside the code you want to edit. The Edit Charge Code dialog box appears.

    Note: Charge code Type and Value are not editable. To have an different type or value, make the existing charge code inactive or delete it. Then create a new charge code.

  4. Edit the fields as required.
  5. Click Save.

    Note: The Parent Code and Parent Type relationships can only be edited via the Group Action drop-down.

Charge Code Translations

If multi-language support is enabled for your company and you have the correct administration right (Admin - Company Translations), you can configure your charge code in the languages your company instance supports. If a user then changes their language setting via their personal settings, the translated value for the charge code is used wherever the charge code appears in the system.

  1. Click the Edit Translation link at the top of the Edit Charge Code dialog box.

    The Code Type dialog box appears.

  2. Type translations for each of the supported languages.
  3. Click Save.
